17 February 2022 – In February 2022 French Slovenian Business Club has organized cultural night to mark Slovenian public holiday, Prešeren day that is celebrated on the 8th of February. This was the first event of the year 2022, where the program scheme and the novelties for the year 2022 were presented by club’s newly elected president Mrs. Tatjana Šikovec. The evening was opened with the speech of Her Excellency the French ambassador to Slovenia, Mrs Florence Ferrari.
After a long break from cultural events, we had opportunity to indulge into poetry and musical performance delivered by a number of established artists and musicians.
We enjoyed listening to Prešeren’s poetry recited by Mr. Vasja Ulrih who is Prešeren’s connoisseur and the artist behind the only restored original plaster of the poet. We could also admire Mr. Vasja Ulrih’s installation of multiple Prešeren’s statues that decorated the venue.
Tamburaška skupina Dobreč took us on musical travel from French chansons to Slovenska popevka. Currently the best tamburitza orchestra in the world lead by Mr. Gregor Zagorc proved that tamburitza music has no boundaries. Vocal performance of legendary Lado Leskovar and young singer Maja Marinčič fascinated the audience.
