On Thursday, 24 September 2026, the French-Slovenian Business Club gathered at Gostilna Livada for “Risani trak – presečna množica francoske in slovenske kulture”. No coups were attempted, which, given that the evening was built around King Ubu, was by no means guaranteed.

Ciril Horjak, aka Dr Horowitz and author of the comic Kralj Ubu ali Poljaki, held the room with a lively presentation. Émilien Roulot, Cultural Cooperation Counsellor at the French Institute in Slovenia, briefly introduced the Institute and its work. Slavko Dobnik, Director of Salon Sauvignon, then presented the festival’s plans for 2027 and, purely in the interest of research, a selection of wines was tasted.

Verdict: a thoroughly civilised evening. We thank our guests and all who joined us.
